From its humble beginnings at 8, Darya Ganj to today’s Shri Ram College of Business, the college has grown into a prestigious institution pioneering instruction in the fields of commerce, management, and economics. Shri Ram College of Commerce’s history may be divided into numerous major stages. The College became a coeducational institution in 1957. This move allowed female students in the College to pursue business and economics education, resulting in a more gender-balanced student body over time.

Shri Ram College of Commerce’s Placement Cell was founded in 1996. The College launched its Post Graduate Diploma in Global Business Operations (PGDGBO) in 1999, a unique self-funded PG Diploma degree aimed at providing excellent management education for worldwide business excellence. The addition of PGDGBO to Shri Ram College of Commerce’s academic offerings brought the overall number of academic programmes offered by the college to four since its foundation.

The College celebrated its Platinum Jubilee in 2001. The College’s Seminar Room was built to commemorate the institution’s 75th anniversary. The Government of Delhi designated the main College building as a “Heritage Building” in 2007. In keeping with its mission of becoming a stakeholder-oriented institution, the College fully renovated itself by installing centralised air-conditioning systems, projectors, and Wi-Fi into its classrooms and tutorial rooms.
